truck driver shortage to fill jobs

What comes to mind when you see a truck driver? I see freedom – the country side from coast to coast is your office. A sense of freedom comes to mind. Of course with every job, not everything is a bed of roses. Every job, no matter what, has its challenges. For Contracted Driver Services, no challenge is bigger than fulfilling open truck driver jobs for our valuable clients and drivers.

The need for truck drivers is at an all-time high right now, yet transportation companies cannot fill the 10’s of thousands of open positions around our beautiful country. Job postings continue to surge and the U.S. Department of Labor expects there to be over 330,000 truck drivers in demand by 2020. Our challenge is here to stay awhile.

Why is there such a demand? The demand for shipping is outgrowing the supply of qualified drivers. We mentioned earlier this week on Facebook, today’s workforce is aging, making the competition even more fierce. Tighter restrictions on truck driver hours is creating more short and long haul positions to be filled. CDS is always trying to adapt to industry changes, our drivers’ needs and find the right trucking job that suits their lifestyle.

Contracted Driver Services has jobs to fill and we want to make sure we have a continuous job pool of qualified truck drivers for years to come. We love hearing from our drivers! CDS wants to continue helping the trucking industry to proper but we can’t do that without your help. If you are looking for a temporary or permanent truck driving job, please call our recruiters at 866.847.6536 or visit and fill out our online application.
